Toys - upcoming engine build project

Post by Tony Z »

I am so excited about the toys just just arrived in my possession.
I have an upcoming project for which I'll be putting together a 1700cc T1 engine.
Nothing fancy, I am aiming for a reliable daily driven 100hp with minimal expenses - none of this 30K for an engine stuff...
I have a few plans for this engine, along with 3 or 4 different configurations which I'd like to test. But for now, the aim is complete reliability with a smile on my dial...

Here are a few pics to wet the appetite.

I still have other parts to buy and I didnt picture all the parts I've got.
Either way, I'll keep you guys updated when I begin with this engine.

Donovan - I know I promised you some parts, but I didnt use that supplier this time.

No firm details yet. Will see how it progresses.
I know what I am aiming for and my reasoning behind trying something a little different. So we'll see where this leads.
I wanted to get a set of pistons too, but they were out of the size I want. Just as well, because I am out of luggage allowance.

Hi Mr Herman

;-)

That is correct. As for it visiting JHB... well, I hope this is correct, however, the project seems to be a little slow in getting started. So I am hoping it doesnt become a semi-permanent visit...

I completely agree Pierre. Rather do it right the first time...

You can email me the pictures, it'll be easier and quicker, I'll then post them once there is a story to tell

As the old saying goes "You never have time to do it right the 1st time but you always have time to do it right the 2nd time" that's why it pays to do it right the 1st time as Pierre says.
