Bay front seats

Post by Blitzkrieg »

I have access to a '78 Bay window that's pretty far gone body wise, mega rust all over, but the two fronts seats (non bench) are still in pretty good condition...

They are complete with the seat rails and associated hardware, but the headrests are missing

I had a quick glance at them but didn't have the time to compare the size and height with Beetle seats

Would these seats work in a Beetle or Type 3?

I can get them for practically nothing

I don't know for certain, but probably not.

Type 1 & 3 seats have a raised pedestal, which bus seats do not. This is because the Type 1 & 3 seats sit on the floor, while bus seats sit above the axle, so are higher up than the floor.
