Bought a 20 Valve alternator (has a lot fins that allow for better cooling and smaller in diameter and rounded which will rstrict lesser air for cooling the engine)
WTF??? Help explain pls
, also got a multi tooth belt pulley for the crank and on the alternator. going to look and putting a serpentine belt sustem with possibly a golf cam belt tensioner.
Ok if you want to use Cam belt type system to drive the alternator with turbo, It eint gonna work when you start making horsepower and inbetween Gear changes the motor
Reduces speed much quicker than the alternator system and with the result is that the pullys eat off all the tooth off the belt
Rather use the multi groove type belts that allow slippage in between gear changes
Believe me I was there before
Can you mesure the B/Ends size of your crank for us pls that will give us a indication to what the strke might be
Conrods what rods are you going to use did you get special rods with the crank?

O ja well done posting a pic now post one of the buisness end

Re: 1600 S with Type iv
Alternator is small ie. the overall diameter is +/-15cm (air will get around it easier) and has a light body construction ie. the body is made like a sort cage with lots of ribs for cooling... Porsche upright type colling shroud.
Oops I meant multi groove type belt. I am still playing with the idea of turbo: try efi with big motor maybe build another motor with turbo
Got a set of 45 Dellorto now.
Thanx Bugger and Tony Z for advice will remember to bring my USB Cable to upload photos onto site
