If you are trying to avoid a money trap, avoid classic cars all together. My busses are both great runners, but they take thier fair amount of my disposable income each month

Re: Baywindow purchasing advice.
Finding a good Bay at a fair price is becoming more difficult, but every now and then a reasonable one pops up. You just need to have the cash instantly available, and sometimes be prepared to either travel to check it out, or take a risk and buy based on photo's. I've managed to find 5 pretty good bays in the past year so be patient and keep your eyes open...

I've owned a few 60's and 70's cars so I do understand what it takes to own one but I also understand that not all money pitsSambabus wrote:If you are trying to avoid a money trap, avoid classic cars all together. Re: Baywindow purchasing advice.
Just be patient. R50k will get you a really solid, original baywindow bus.
Look at some of the gumtree ads I have reposted in the Vehicles For Sale forum; lots of good buses there at reasonable prices. And those are all gumtree buses. Use your network (work colleagues, church congregation, family, friends, etc) and put the word out that you are looking. Keep an album of photographs of the kinds of buses you'd like and show it to anyone who is even slightly interested.
And, as I said in my first post above, be patient and keep looking for the right bus; don't fall in love with the first POS that comes your way. If you are clear about what you want, it will find you.
