Missing front seat panels

Post by Wyntand5900 »

Hi all,
I am in the process of restoring a 1969 Double Cab. I am missing the floor section underneath the front seat. I currently have the steel panel behind the front seat like in the below picture.

Note the steel panel behind the front seat.

I am considering installing single seats and removing the steel panel behind the front seats to access the rear seats like in the below picture.

Note easy access to the back.

Are there anyone out there that have these sections in a kombi you are using for parts ???

HI WYNTANT.

THE SEATS YOU HAVE THERE ARE NOT THE CORRECT SEATS FOR A DOUBLE CAB WHICH I'M SURE YOU KNOW. THEY WERE A DOUBLE AND SINGLE CONFIGURATION IN FRONT.
IF YOU DON'T COME RIGHT WITH THE SINGLE BASES YOU ARE AFTER, YOU COULD PROBABLY CONSIDER CUTTING (CAREFULLY) THE CENTRE SECTION OUT AS YOU INTEND COVERING IT ANYWAY. IT MIGHT SAVE YOU SOME MONEY AND TIME IN WAITING.

I DO HAVE A DONOR BUS UP IN JNB WHICH I AM BATTLING TO GET DOWN HERE AND IT MIGHT JUST BE THE TICKET FOR WHAT YOU WANT. UNTIL I GET IT HERE THOUGH......???

That bulk head provides a level of structural rigidity, I would consider seeking an experts opinion.,

Mark,
The first picture is not from my double cab, but yes, I do have the double and single configuration currently in the single cab. My double cab sits in Vereeniging at the moment. I am planning a trip up there in March (subject to an annual bonus coming in  )
Its definitely missing the floor below the seats only (not the feet). This is from photos I have seen sent from my brother..... I'm hoping to get the two single seats in there as I think it will look awesome !!!
When do you think you intend going up to JHB to collect your bus :?:
