Kombi Prices.

Post by yohbie »

Hi guys,

I keep record of all Kombi's listed on Gumtree, Junkmail etc and while browsing around I came across this Kombi once again:
Image
In July 2013 it was for sale for R55 000.00. I now see it's for sale at a dealer in Sedgefield for R125 000.00!?

I also saw it in person at Zwarkops and nothing has been done to this car. R70k profit on a car that you did nothing on.?. Ridiculous this whole Kombi selling thing these days. :bn:

Yohbie,

agreed, but I think there are a few opportunists, for want of a better word, who can afford a bus, keep it a few months, or even use it, and then re-sell it, as you say, at a much inflated price.
But then, it's also willing buyer, willing seller.. I was hunting for a bus for a couple of months, just junk that passed through Gumtree, and then all of a sudden, two or three good ones went on (including mine.) I kept in contact with the seller, and while a almost bought a different Bus, offered to try sell his on a facebook group as well. When the other bus wasn't going to work out for me, I went back to him, and his Gumtree ad had 1 400 plus visits in the 3 weeks he had it listed. He had a number of calls, and one or two "tyre kickers", but no firm offer at all. So I bought it.. I paid a little more than I wanted to, but it was less than his price, and we all won in the end.

I'd be verry surprised If this green Low light sells for this price, but then again, someone might JUST have been bitten, goes and see's this, and makes an offer and buys it.. Probably not for this money, but the current owner "might make" 20 K..

The Splitties are off the charts in my opinion.

It is an over all nice looking bus. By looking at the pic they are only a few cosmetic issues that need to be sorted out. But what should the going price on something like this be? It's always nice to see what price the seller wants, what price they get and what price it should of sold for. Also an idea of what it will cost to neaten up.
