Hi everybody
I've just finished my deluxe sunroof bay and as in my thread I want to insure my bus. I know what it cost me to, but don't know how much it is worth. I would appreciate all the input I can get.
How much to insure ones vehicle for?

Contact Bugger and ask him to do an evaluation - he helped me with mine.
I have my P/Van insured for 60K. Yours, I'd do 60 to 80, but then again, I dont know the values properly

Nixon75,
at the end of the day, you need to consider what would be a "realistic" price to replace your Kombi.. Thats the BIG WORD. If you want to insure it for 150 K, you can, but you will kak with the premiums. If however, you're honest and say, you COULD get a Kombi in near same condition for 80 K, then that's what you ask for when insuring it. Don't expect Outsurance to see your Kombi as you see it, they don't. They see a 40 plus year old car on a computer screen, and it's depreciated value.
They told me mine's replacement value was R 6 800-00!!! lol..
I have insured mine for 80 K, as I believe thats a fair price for a decent enough Bay.
Hope this helps.

You should insure it for what you put in it, you should be able to prove that value with the costs you had, because, should you want to replace it to the same standard, that is what you would have to spend again.

You should also consider your risk, how often to you use it, where do you use it? etc. etc.
I use my cars very little so mine only have third party insurance , I therefore choose to take most of the risk

No sense being pessimistic. It wouldn't work anyway.
