Re: New Members - Introduce yourself..
Hello I am kiepie, a nick name from army days, like kiepie die mofhoender.
If all works out well. I will be the owner of an Autovilla.
That is now subject to said vehicle in satisfactory condition.
It is a T2 Kombi chassis with Autovilla on it. The Autovilla is the type with double sleeping on top of the cab.
The kombi has a 3.0 l Ford engine in. Conversion done by Daan Jacobs Conversions.
I have no idea if the transmission has been modified. I only know it is a 4 speed gearbox.
If I buy this vehicle, I will let you guys know all the details and pictures.
Regards,
Dirk Kemp
Hope this was not too terrible

Welcome Kiepie ,Are you sure its not Kiepie like in "Kiepie & Kandas " ,its sounds so much better than Kiepie die mofhoender !LOL. http://www.aircooledvwsa.co.za/viewtopi ... d94#p85487 . Regarding the Autovilla, they are finally being noticed and getting the recognition they've always deserved as Fig said .

Hi All
New one to the beetle family.
It is a sending from above for finding this forum. So I going to surf the forum a bit and check things out and get so much info for my small brain as it can handle.
I have 2 beetles one is a 1972 beetle with a 1600 twin port engine in (the Wife’s pride and joy). Was a project and is finish now still a few hiccups (tooting problems) on it and for me that is new to the beetle family sorting them out bit by bit and as it comes along.
The second beetle is a 1973 beetle that had a 1955 around there 1200 motor with box in, taking the antique out and putting it a side for safe keeping, Installing 1600 twin port with matching box as it is the daughter's for her metric year car. Still needs to be complete it from bottom to top and bumper to bumper.
Take care and enjoy your beetles.
Gert

Re: New Members - Introduce yourself..
Hi.
I am german(born here but my parents came from Germany)
I dont have a VW at the moment and only put a 59 beetle on the question list because I could not register.
I got my eye on a +-70 bus which is in good nick, and mother had a 59 split beetle lhd which she imported from Germany, a 72 beetle, my uncle a split bus and I had many engine spares which I gave away for scrap metal when I built a volksplane which is still flying.
Hope to be getting much info from you people as I must convince the sellers wife to sell. It has a engine which is not running and apparently vibrated a lot the last time it run.

Re: New Members - Introduce yourself..
Hi All.
New to the forum but not to VW. I owned 7 beetles of various models after school. Got a bit confused and bought a Ford and Toyota after that but thankfully came to my senses. Since then had Jetta 2, Polo 1.4 Tdi, Golf 3 GTS, Golf 5 GT 1.4 TSI (imported), Amarok to name a few.
I am now looking to get back into the aircooled scene. We own a company which supply Nano protective coatings for vehicles. The idea is to get a Beetle and use it as advertisement for the coatings.
Thanks for the great effort with the forum. Keep it going.

Hi Guys
I'm Neerajh and I have a 1966 ,911 Porsche which is really a Beetle in disguise.
It's a project car that I hope to work on in my spare time but I'm finding out the hard way that parts are costly and hard to source.
Right now I desperately need 14" or 15" ,5.5 " Fuchs beadles rims as I cannot drive the car without the tyres touching the fenders on every speed bump!
I love the old aircooled cars and hope to buy a restored Karman Ghia when I can afford it and hopefully before the prices go mad.
Regards
