My wife not feeling my kombi
Hi all
I'm struggling to get my wife into the kombi. Kids love it but she is not feeling it. Fitted a rock n roll bed and started fitting camper interior. Let's hope she gets into it when we go camping, otherwise I'm going to be in a difficult position, wife or kombi....lol.

Re: My wife not feeling my kombi
Chicks dont get it.
In 5 years, my missus has been in my VWs 3 times. And I have never really even opened it up with her in it either, so it cant be fear
She claims that she wants to go for a drive in the kombi, but as yet, that hasnt happened.
Good luck with your camping trip guys, our future depends on you

Re: My wife not feeling my kombi
My missis will not get into any of my vintage cars, not sure if its an image thing, but if i want 'Me Time", all I have to say is, "...come on, lets go for a short trip in the bus...."
Good luck guys, still not sure if it a good or bad thing.
Must say, the kids love it, and can not wait for a road trip.

Damm then I'm very lucky. The better half loves the bug and she is even more eager to obtain a bus than I am. Even offer to help with the resto on the bug AND on the bus once we get one. What can I say just have to love her.
The Bug has bitten. I'm doomed for ever

Re: My wife not feeling my kombi
Thought I'll give mine credit. Just last night she said she cannot wait for the bus to be finished and that she will be the first in it waiting to go for a drive.
Sometimes nags me to use one of the beetles to take the kids to soccer. On the other hand the laaitie is getting to an age now that he'll rather walk than have to drive in one.

I'm also a 1st timer, but mine seems quite keen on the camping thing. Sher enjoys going out in the Speedy. The Bus is British themed, which helps as she's Brit\Irish, and after her first drive a few weeks back, she's dead keen on the bus..

Re: My wife not feeling my kombi
I think what puts our partners off is the potential for a breakdown in the middle of nowhere in an old kombi and the ensuing "adventure" to get it back home. My girlfriend is now pretty wary of going on a long trip with me after we drove two kombi's I'd just bought down from JHB and PE respectively, and both of them broke down along the way...And then there was the issue with our brakes catching fire on the way to Afrika Burn of course
