Hi. I'm a newbie here. Got myself 4 beetles. '62 '74 '76 '77. Busy in restoring the '62. Need some minor parts. Where can I source. '74 and '76 is due to become "ratrods" Need extra performance - to fit with image. Would like to stay with aircooled engins. Any advise, suggestions?

Hey All! The name is Nick.

I am not a complete newbie to the site, simply lost the old login details. I had 2 beetles, a 58 and a 75. I am now busy building a Beach Buggy.

Will most definately be posting in Projects again.

I came across your website and realise that there is a community of air-cooled VW enthusiasts. So I thought it would be good to join.
My (VW) cars are : 1953 VW Type 15B Cabriolet (photo attached)
1973 VW 1303LS Cabriolet
2005 VW Golf GTI (not aircooled, but manufactured in Sth Africa)

Sambas in South Africa are good for only 2 things: showing off and sunburn.

I posted this somewhere else in the forum, but I suppose this may be the correct one :
Having come across your website I gathered that there is a community of VW Aircooled enthusiasts in South Africa and as such it may be good to be linked up.

I have the following VWs:
1953 Type 15B Cabriolet (photo attached)
1973 1303LS Cabriolet
2005 Golf GTI (not aircooled but manufactured in Sth Africa)

While the '53 restoration is nominally complete, teher are still some parts (engine-related) I am looking for.

Regards
Robin

Welcome to our part of the world ;-)
Cabrio looks stunning. I am sure I speak for all of us when we say that we would love to see a thread on the restoration project.

I realise I didn't mention that I live in Singapore (and obviously so do the cars). This project took nearly 2i years to complete (and there's still work to do) but it is now on the road and registered.
