1962 T1 resto cal project
This is where my 62 has been kept for the past 8 years, I have had it for about 12 years, had it resprayed at one stage and was very upset when the botched the paint job, then striped it to bare metal myself and started filling and priming, but got married and everyone knows the rest of the story. Two kids later and i am finally ready to get it completed. I took it to Mr Tommy Locke in Jhb who does amazing work, he has done a Karmann Ghia and a Cobra for my old man, excellent work. While he is painting I'll be sorting out the motor for which I have been gethering parts for just as long. Here are some pics of my solo attempt at loading it, can't believe how light these things are.

Nice, what model is the beetle ?
maybe 59 or 60.
Looks to be in good condition, are they projects or runner. ?

They're projects, hoping to be runners soon as he's coming to retirement and will have more time to work on them. Beetle is a '57. Oval. The're just full of dust.

More goodies for my motor, almost ready to send to engineers, still waiting for the proper crank shims and crank seal from Germany.

Ghias look so cool without bumpers
No sense being pessimistic. It wouldn't work anyway.
