Managed to Open the top of my Jack and re-weld the worm gear, so all good.

Why did you not choke the wheels to start with? Safety first Mr! Correct me if I am wrong but I think you can use a merc one too. If you can.t find vw.

Yes some of the Merc jacks also work well ...
