Beetle OEM Wheel balancing and white side walls inserts

Hi Guys,

I've been to two wheel and tyre outlets and they can't assist me to balance my wheels since they are the original wheels. The tyre guys say they don't have the adaptor plate for the balancing machines and aren't able to balance my wheels that need desperate balancing to be done.

I like to keep my bug original and prefer the OEM wheels and chrome hubcaps. Would anyone know where I could have my wheels balanced?

On a separate note, would anyone know where I could get white wall inserts for my bug's tyres?

Just phone around a few of the popular tyre places in your area and ask if they do the high speed balancing with the wheels on the car. There are plenty here in the Cape Town facility. No adaptors needed for this.

I do tend to think you may actually have a rim or tyre problem that isn't actually round, these old cars are way too slow to notice balancing most the time.

Sorry I can't help, there are Tyre shops here in Cape Town that can balance VW's still.
I bought my White Wall inserts from a guy on Gumtree. Have a look there, or possibly contact Volksspares.

Most Tiger Wheel and Tyre places have the adaptor. I've had stock 5x205 PCD wqheels balanced at TWT Fordsburg and Woodmead.

I use HiQ Dastek in Centurion.

They also have the adapter and also know how to use it.
