DaveW wrote:What suspension mods do you need to do to get that kind of lift? Do the guys go full A arm or are they modded spindles front and rgb's on the rear.
Gearing mods must also be hectic to turn those wheels.
Ok in terms of the rear that bugger should know more than me and what to do ther.
In terms of the front.
To get the most out of something like that you have a widened beam maybe 8" that gets 4 torsion leafs instead of the standard 2, vw bus heavy duty adjusters, 4 upper torsion arms, special cut shock towers and special king/link pins (sorry i always forget which is which) that hold the shocks and you off on the front oh yes and if you want to hit the dunes the tie rod assemblies get boxed.
Mmmmm.. Nom, nom ,nom..
That is just soooo cool, I've always wanted to do something like that, get a Baja, fit some nice wheels & low profiles and lower it broken!
Just keep on BUGGIN'
Protect the endangered, say NO to exporting our AirCooled spares & cars..
Wouldn't mind a (wait for it, wait for it !!!) OVAL baja myself. There is just something so wrong it makes it feel right (Did I "say" that out loud )
BIG wheels, flat black or camo paint, ready to @#$#@$ up the landy's and cruisers
Any reason why someone would not be able to fit reduction boxes in a baja ?
There used to be a Baja that I used to see down in Sodwana in the 80's that had reduction boxes fitted.
The guy had jacked the front suspension up as high as it would go but I doubt it was not lekker - esp. on dirt roads and esp. on the Sodwana road in those days.
Dunno if you could plates to adjust front susp height then - doubt it.
