Re: New Members - Introduce yourself..
Hello Everyone!
I must admit I'm not one that is particularly fond of such introductions... in my line of work I often attend meetings, training courses etc. both local and international and you are asked to introduce yourself.... then I see these movies in my head were people introduce themselves and then everybody say Hi, I am "the name of the character"....
Anyway, I am Riaan and live in Pretoria. I currently don't have any ACWV's, but I am working on it...so you might see this as my project
My first car was a 1976 1600 TP Beetle about 10 years ago, it was a great car! I must admit it was a sad day when I looked on as someone else drove away with it
I confess, I have registered a few months ago on this forum when the longing for a Beetle became too much and I began to look around to see how I can try and fill the void. I must say, this forum is very active!
The beetle that I would like to own would be a 60's model with the small tail lights and the "teardrop" engine bay lid, preferably the lid without the air vents. Maybe after that a Karmann Ghia. The biggest problem that I can foresee is parking space

Re: New Members - Introduce yourself..
Good day!
I am a VW nut from Krugersdorp, I currently own a 1974 Beetle and a baywindow bus. I have been registered for about three years now but never got into using the forums until today.
I am in the process of getting my VW kombi pickup to be road and trip ready, but I bought it with a evil 2.5 Chev motor that tends to overheat. Yes yes I know it's not a aircooled motor but it's a bus none the less and I couldn't get my hands on such a beautiful aircooled as this watercooled is. Planning on one day putting a 1.8T AUG motor in it. Like Pierre Eksteen's one bus.
I have been a VW nut since I was 1, got my first beetle, which is the beautiful lady on my avatar when I was 14. I don't go too often to VW meetups since I am a student and money is scarce. I am now 20 going on 21 in a few months. I absolutely love working on my VW's when I want to relax. I often seek help and I forgot about the forums
My beetle got some ugly hail damage a few years ago when the big hail hit us, I am still saving up to get her fixed. I am also going to re do my interior soon.

Re: New Members - Introduce yourself..
Hi all, Alan here.
When I wanted to register I found I had already registered three years ago. :-0
can't remember why but I had a '56 Kombi Ambulance that I sold a few years back and still regret it. Anyway now I again have an air-cooled VW a '59 Beetle. She need more work than I anticipated but hopefully I will get there. Just want to get her running first and also registered. She spent the last 20 years in a garage.
Well nice to be here and am sure to meet some of you along the way.

Re: New Members - Introduce yourself..
Hi everybody
My name is JP and I'm a Bug-O-Holic from Heidelberg in Gauteng.
I bought my first Beetle, a red '75 1600 named "Ringo" on Valentines day 2015. Ringo was sold to a family member 3 weeks later to make room for "George", an ivory white '68 1500 single port numbers matching spotless beaut. George was beautified further and then given to my wife who loves him to bits. I bought myself a scruffy white '71 (my year model as well) 1300 twin port in May last year and decided to make it a themed Bug.
I've owned many interesting cars through the years but I can honestly say that I've never had this much fun with any of them. We try to take the Bugs out to shows regularly.
Thanks for a very nice forum.
