Cool Kombi Food Wagon - just bought!
My latest acquisition is a very cool, unique Kombi food wagon. It was apparently made into a convertible by a former owner to drive guests around a game farm - and the guy I bought it from added an awning roof and used it as a coffee wagon. It was just at the George Car Show - some of you may have seen it there. It has a 1600 motor and apparently drives well.

There are some pics of it on the forum somewhere - I think, where the previous owner collected it from JHB - I think it was green at the time. I thought that it ended up in Durban ?

Paul, I think that was a different kombi, but the same concept. That kombi was for sale at R 95 000 - that's not what I paid I'm intrigued to see if I can get it through a roadworthy as a Kombi convertible - that's its description on the deregistration papers, so I take it it was licenced as such previously. Imagine cruising along Camp's Bay with family and friends in the back

When I see that A frame it reminds me of a high profile Advocate customer I had at the time who owned a farm and towed a kombi to my shop in the early 90s and asked me to mount a" A" Frame to it and add some partitions to it so he could tow his prize sheep to shows around the country.I thought he was joking at first but thats what he wanted and thats what we gave him,it actually did not turn out to bad in the end just a bit weired.

It arrives next Friday - let's hope there will not be too many surprises, and that if there are they are pleasant

Will do Alan...Apparently the chassis has been strengthened - but when buying a vehicle without seeing it one expects anything...The fact that the bodywork looks so neatly done makes me hopeful
