German Window Rubbers - ordering now

Post by Tony Z »

Hey Guys
This is a follow on topic to the feeler http://www.aircooledvwsa.co.za/viewtopi ... 72&t=33160

I received 3 rubbers from Germany - 1x Baywindow Front windscreen and 1x Baywindow Rear window. Both German made.
I also got a Brazilian rubber for comparison.
Bizarrely the Brazilian rubber feels softer, but we all know that the German rubbers are of better quality.

I already have these rubbers on my bus and they fit perfectly and are watertight (except when I hosed down through an open window :jerkoff: ).
I got these rubbers directly from Germany at a vastly reduced price to what I paid via USA.
The guy who installed my rubbers also installed a set on a fellow forum members bus and said mine was a pleasure to work with compared to his.

Current prices for the ones I have now are
German front windscreen R850
German rear window R900
Brazilian front windscreen R625

See below pics - Brazilian is the bottom one, others are German.

I'll be placing an order this week for more. If there is something that you definitely want, let me know and I'll ensure I order it. If its not on the list, I'll need a part number too. These guys also do beetle rubbers.
Unfortunately, I am leaving SA soon until the first week of March, so there wont be any delivery until then.

Based on what I paid now for these and shipping costs, the estimated price list which I have now is as follows:
Front windscreen 211 845 121 D R850 German
R625 Brazilian
Engine lid seal / deck lid seal 211 827 711 C R700 German
Left cargo door seal 214 843 791 B R1350 German
Rear window seal 211 845 521 D R900 German
Door seal left 211 831 721 D R925 German
R375 Brazilian
Door seal right 211 831 722 D R925 German
R375 Brazilian
Rear door seal / tailgate seal 211 829 193 E R1950 German

Prices are subject to change, based upon the currency exchange rate, but I am trying my utmost to keep prices low. Postage will cost extra.

Hi Tony,

I would like the following please.
Front windscreen 211 845 121 D R850 German
Engine lid seal / deck lid seal 211 827 711 C R700 German
Rear window seal 211 845 521 D R900 German
Rear door seal / tailgate seal 211 829 193 E R1950 German

Would this be the sliding door rubber?
Left cargo door seal 214 843 791 B R1350 German
If so, I would like one as well please.

Then, if you can get, I would like a set of window rubbers for the side windows (2x sliding and 2x non-sliding)
If you tell me the website, I'll check to get the part numbers.

Thanks for the effort. Let me know if you need a deposit.

I need to put in the order this week. I was hoping for Wednesday. They have a shipment leaving for SA very soon, which I am piggy backing on, so shipping is nearly zero

Finally an update....
I have just been sent the invoice and been told that they are in SA ready for delivery. - its only taken 8 months. That said, even with the rand taking a 50% tumble against the Euro and $$$ in the last 9 months, because they held back to basically arranged free shipping to SA, the prices are the same as quoted for originally, so I suppose I should give them a little credit where it is due.

I'll make the payment tonight so that hopefully delivery can take place next week.
I actually return home from work on Tuesday, so the timing is perfect.
I'll sort out everything and make up orders for those of you who have reserved the rubbers. Then I'll pm you all asking for payment and addresses.
Any extras I'll then put up for sale on the forum.
