Shipping a Bus to the UK

Post by YvaneS »

Hi All,

I dont post on ACVWSA alot any more, as I have moved to the UK. I do still silently browse the forum from time to time....
One thing I have to say is that I am amazed to see how the prices of ACVW's have increased in the last 2 years

I have recently been helping my Neighbour to convert his T5 into a camper ready for Busfest in September (I will post pictures later tonight) : http://www.busfest.org/busfest/ . I will also be attending this show, so you can expect a load of pictures to follow :hangloose:

Anyways, all this excitement of building a camper T5, I have decided to bring my baywindow to the UK. (i have been thinking about this for a while, but have finally decided to bite the bullet and do it)

I have received a quote from a reputable shipping company who specialise in shipping exotics and supercars (Also a few ACVW's). As you can see, the prices are extortionate, and I need to shop around a little more.

Anyone else have experience of shipping cars to the UK? (I am currently talking to Dutch Diver)

Where are you shipping from? Its cheaper to get a bigger container and fit 2 cars and share the costs with someone.

if the shipping costs are too expensive, then sell it and buy one that is already in the UK

Probably Johannesburg as there is where the veichle is atm.

My initial request was to ship 2 cars in a 40ft but the price is basically double that of a single (discount of 10%)
