Hi Guys. Here are a few pictures of the white 1969 model bay window I recently acquired.
It was the last one I had to fetch out of this lot I bought.
The bus was still on stands as it had just had a full rebuild underneath.
The final trip to Barrydale with my van fully loaded with spares, engines and gearboxes.

Re: My white 69 Bus
After some finishing off touches mechanically, installation of the motor and gearbox, the bus is running lovely. If you take a look at the interior pics below, you will see its original paint and colour on the dash board, but at some point in its life, some guy resprayed it with a rattle can outside. It looks hideous, but im going to just try and flat it off and hopefully it will reveal the original paint underneath. The bus is in a lovely solid condition.
It still had the Zimbabwean plates on when I got it, the original owners had moved to South Africa in the early 2000's and drove it down. This is also not a locally assembled bus, but a full import.
Take note of the different instrument cluster, its a 69 model with the very early speedo with odometer at the bottom of the needle, but it reads in km/h.

Re: My white 69 Bus
Then finally, the seats I got with it. The original owner had them all wrapped up in bubble wrap and brown paper for protection over the years while in storage. Unwrapping them revealed a rather itchy 70's material which didn't look so good, BUT, it was coverings made over the original vinyl which was still beautifully intact. It is a very different weave pattern on the vinyl we dont see here in SA. I think the vinyl in Fig's 70 Westy camper may be the same. I never seen any others.
More pics to follow tomorrow of how the seats look after cleaning.
