Here are a few pictures of the bus cleaned up. I only manged to snap these few poor quality pics yesterday, better ones to follow.
Polishing in process.
Over the past few evenings I have been preparing a fresh motor and gearbox for this bus, Friday night I installed it and finished it all off on Saturday. At the same time I went through cleaning the CV's with new boots, bearings, running gear and shocks. The clutch cable tube had also been broken out which I had to re-weld in place. The entire front section of the wiring loom had been gutted from this bus, but just while stripping spares off a rotten kombi 1 week earlier, I had luckily grabbed the loom. I installed the new loom and got everything wired up and working.
This being a 75 model, it uses the later style flat headlights which are still available new from Hella. I installed these and new taillights. I had a set of rims blasted and powder coated and new tyres fitted.
After setting up everything, I was able to take it home. The bus is going very well. Its good to have a 2L late baywindow going again, I was getting used to these pup 1600's.
