Re: "Eva-Ann"
The previous owner rubberised the interior for some reason. I thought that it was still in a good condition and that I would just clean it out and I would carpet over it.
But the weekend with some closer inspection I realised that it was lifting and that the one door is leaking, causing water to build up between the rubberising and the floor-pan.
Here's some before photos.

Started lifting the rubberising ..... this is not going to be an easy job.
Agree, can't decide on the interior yet.

A heat gun should do the trick. There is always some hidden surprises.

Re: "Eva-Ann"
One possible reason for the rubberising is that helps with noise isolation. A better approach, in my opinion, would be to install a purpose made noise isolation material like Dynamat (there are probably some other brands as well).

Re: "Eva-Ann"
If you can get dry ice, or Liquid nitrogen, Spread it over the rubberizing and you will hear it crack
Then just lift and remove with a scraper, as it will be loose, wear gloves, or loose you fingers.

Re: "Eva-Ann"
Pro Auto Rubber is now selling a product which does heat insulation as well as sound deadening, at a fraction of the cost of Dynamat. I've bought some and am very satisfied with it.

Re: "Eva-Ann"
I'd go marine vinyl. It's more expensive than Kehl's vinyl but stronger and more durable. Also more UV resistant.
