Trying times call for trying measures

As we are in some Trying times at this moment in the history of man, and the future is bleak at most,

Some with added hardship of lack of work, some with sickness and pain,

even losses in the family makes it hard.

We on this forum have the advantage of an "greater Family" support, advice, a joke or two, and a sense that we not alone.

Being able to slide into the garage when feeling down, and spending a few hours with our aircooled family, forgetting all other issues, and returning to our household with calm and a new sense of drive.

Lets start filling this forum with tit-bits, efforts done, and a bit of shared pride of being able to beat this thing.

No Whatts App can retain so much information and help so many guys, have history and research at your keyboard.

No number of "Thumbs-Up" has helped an newbie start with a project, or got him interested in doing aircooleds.

With a hand full of pain killers and a lot of effort even I get through the day to find joy with my cars and this here forum.

Come guys, lets make this here forum run again, if not it will DIE.

I will try to add some stuff when I can, but as I've been out of the country for most of this year (partially thanks to not being able to get in or out) I've done very little in the workshop and have even less to add.

I just want to reach a milestone on a non-air-cooled project before plunging into my '73 single cab. Currently the SC's load bin is serving as storage for all the stuff that' s lying around.

Every dark cloud has a silver lining, due to the current situation which caused various financial woes in my family, I am forced to use one of my air-cooleds as daily driver (68 Beetle) I could not use my Ghia or my buggy for obvious reasons. At first my kids (3 boys) were horrified at the prospect of being driven to school in a crappy car as they put it, but after a few days of arriving at school and all their mates complimenting them on the cool car, they now love it and don't want to be driven to school in any other car.
To my surprise the Beetle works well as a daily driver and I look forward to every opportunity to drive her, never had this with my modern car.
It always attracts smiles from people which makes my day. I do have to wrench on her occasionally, but that adds to the joy of running and owning a 54 year old car.
Keep them on the road!

Too true! My daughter loves being dropped off at school in the older fords rather than the wife's Touran. She recons the Touran is a "boring" car
