Good day fellow Air-cooled fans,

Today's one of the big one's. I took it for a short drive and it was fantastic. No windows yet and a few small things that still need to be addressed, but what a moment. Herman said the first drive is the best and I must agree with him. It was very special.

To be honest, the engine started up quite easily, the gearbox is perfect. It is still original and I took the risk by not touching it. The brakes work a charm and the car feels solid.

One of the "quirks" of these cars is that it has a non synchromesh gearbox, so it is double clutching and revving the engine a bit when you want to go down in the gears, but it is so special.

I attach a YouTube video just so that you can share in my excitement. For sure one of my best Air-cooled days in my life.

This little piece of metal arrived this morning from Spain. It will make one big difference to a three tab bonnet on my Beetle.
