Thank you will do, but he is not much of a run-a-round type of car.jacquesbotha wrote: Mon Aug 02, 2021 2:10 pm Congratulations on a job well done Herman. May MeFusco bring you miles of smiles.
Would be a problem to use as a daily runner.

Parking would be Hell.

Re: Retrovans MeFusco Beetle Truck Project
Hi You'll,
Been thinking as the Hahn project is coming to its finality, and needing something to keep the three of us out of mischief.
The MeFusco has been done, and now stands outside in the weather, as I have no parking long enough for it.
This is a shame, so I have two options, SELL IT or Shorten it. so It will fit in my garage.
So if someone wants to make me a serious offer, you can PM or email me
Other then that I will on completion of the Hahn, shorten the flat bed and turn it into a Bakkie, LTV, or Ute as the Aussies call it.
Having to build a 1938 style back end, with tailgate
So thats the Idea, comments are welcome.

Re: Retrovans MeFusco Beetle Truck Project
Hi Tony, have posted before but think you missed it.
So here you go....
Finally have most of the car done, and in its final stage.
Still needs a few repairs, and small unforeseen changes such as too low rear mud guards.
Also needs a good clean as its got dirt and grim all over from the "adjustments" ...
Repair to assembly damage, and trail bumps....
But here is a full coverage of the MeFusco, after two years of work, and fun.
Will be placing a video at a later stage of a walk around as well as the loading of the Beetle.
But this will have to wait as I need to get my family over for a braai, .......(should read get them to help with the video......)
So here goes ...........

to all that read my posts, Thanks for the assistance advice and comments during the build, this was part of the fun,
as was the constant think and rethink to get it to this stage.
Special thanks to Dawie, Garhard, and Tony Z for your feedback, much appreciated,
OH !!! The rubber mat on the rear fender was taken out to take the photo's thats why its there,
Thanks for looking.

Re: Retrovans MeFusco Beetle Truck Project
How about,.......push the backend of the cab out to make a "double cab" and putting a bak at the back

To make it more "user friendly". Just so that there is'nt a fight between the 3 of you

Thanks Nick,
No the trouble these other two have given me , they will ride in the Back in the Bakkie.
No we will make it a Bakkie and fit a tow bar for the "A" frame

Re: Retrovans MeFusco Beetle Truck Project
You right, The Hahn has taken a lot of build time, and as I had to take out the Fleetline engine to run the Hahn,
The workshop was full of "to Do" work, that the poor MeFusco had to stand out in the rain and wait......
But We rallied the boys and got me, myself, and I to get engine's out where they had to out, and back in where they had to in,
got the Fleetline running again so she can go to the store room, making space for the Hahn to go to "Bay #2" where we will work on the fuel system,
And the MeFusco can go into "Bay# 1" , the build bay, for the back end conversion.
Now you may ask, What about "Bay # 3"and "Bay # 4 " Well the Beetle is in Bay 3 and the Fastback is in Bay 4.
But where is the Bay, well it is in the store room where the Fleetline will join it soon.
Then when the MeFusco is shortened, she can fit in the garage space with all its friends
Now all we need is to arrange the family to a work day....I mean BRAAI, so we can get all these moves made.
So till then

Thanks for your comments, and here are some photo's of the engine baybrianj wrote: Thu Mar 10, 2022 7:32 am Nice video, should have put in a few shots of the motor setup. Well done!
Sorry but forgot that I had not posted photos of the engine before.
It fits neatly under the cab floor, with a lot of space to spare as it is a FWD Aircooled,
