Beetle indicator wiring

Post by No More Landy »

Got the indicators and high beam and horn working, just can’t figure out the park lights when you use indicators when ignition is off. Found two disconnected wires under the front bonnet that run to the park light loom but now trying to figure out where does the constant positive originate to power left and right park lights. Assuming from headlight switch but which terminal?

Anyone can help ?

Think individual left or right park light option (controlled by indicator switch), was never used on beetles. I checked wiring diagrams from manuals.

From left side park lights- grey/ white wires directly to one park fuse. Right side park lights- grey/red wires directly run to other side's park fuse. The two park fuses connected together on feed side. Those fuses are fed by a grey wire from headlight switch.
Staying Aircooled is so much nicer.
Do'nt assume anything- (While doing fault-finding).
