Hi suzie
Where is it leaking oil? From the seam in the tube or from the ends?
if its the seam, just try to make sure that the seam in on the top near the cylinders. If is leaking from the ends. See if the tube will twist . sometimes twisting it will stop the leak. You probably reused the pushrod tubs and did not expand them first.....
The spring loaded tubes really dont work all the well. but if you are desperate, use them.
However it is just as easy to pull the motor and loosen the heads and install new tubes. You have a beach buggy. It might not even be necessary to remove the motor if you have acces to the upper head nuts. It can even be done on a Bug if you take the time and remove the shroud.

Hi Riftvalleyvw

I havent opened the engine before, it looks like it is leeking at the ends of the tubes, will try and twist them and see if that will do the trick
Yes it is on the buugy and luckely there is alot of space to work on it.

Take the heads off and replace all 4 @ about R20 each, cheap insurance, I also paint them with some heat resistant paint to keep the surface rust off for a while longer. The quality of the new ones available at the moment are not all that great as they are paper thin, I try and save as many German ones as possible, I have made a little tool to get all the nicks and dings out, and check them for leaks prior to using them.
For what it's worth, ignorance has no limits ......
