Hp is how fast you hit the wall, and Torque is how far you take the wall with you."

you can. I suppose you can do anything if you want. But to do it properly, there is more to it than just installing the rockers and different pushrods.
Are you uprating your rocker shaft? if not, you stand a fiarly good chance that the clips will pop off due to the added stresses on the rockers and shaft. Are the pushrods the right length or do you just have a set of different pushrods that you assume are the right length? Have you upgraded your valve springs? If not, the valves will prob float a lot sooner not giving you any extra revs, especially if the pushrods are cro-moly and thus heavier than the stock rods. Have you got a decent exhaust? If not, you are wasting your time and money. Have you increased the breathing ability? A stock carb wont allow much extra power (or any depending on carb).

When last did you replace the exhaust valves? If they have over 50 000 km, then you are asking for the valve to break and turn everything to scrap.

Once again, there are cheap ways to do things and then there are the right ways. If you try to skimp out by saving a few rand, it'll cost you in the long run.

Forget Ratio Rockers on a 1600 with stock heads.

Difficult to start with no low end power.

Only way to increase performance and still have a driveable car is increase CCs.

Or look for donor motor that is putting out the power you want and slip it in.

I have found that when you are modifing a motor you are in for a long journey of trial and error. There will be a lot of people giving advice, but you will have the irritation of sorting it out your self. Its simple to assemble a motor. To make it drivable is another story.
