Now that I have some time on my hands,I got into the mood to get the DC going again.I fixed the brakes today and fitted the new rear light assemblies.

nice, but now you can see that the reflector needs some TLC.

Energy at the end of the holidays....

Next I fitted the new EMPI shifter
Old one out

New one in

After I fitted it,I took her for a drive, and only when I was halfway around the block, realised I didnn't have 3rd and 4th gear.I had to stop and adjust the shifter, and now has all the gears. What a pleasure when it doesn't feel like you are rowing.

The carpet was next.I glued the carpet to the rubber mat I cut out,and left a "wing" at the back that could go up and under the seat

The last thing today was the VW badge, which came out quite nice
