That is the legendary EMPI 5-spoke, or replicas of them. They were made by Smiths Wheels in South Africa, but were never sold here. Compliments a Beetle very well.

Hey guy's don't know if I should be excited or not, I posted a pic of my bug on an overseas forum just before I discovered our own forum and the oke's there were ravin about Rostiles, so the one dude posted that he'd love to get his hands on a set , so last night I replied that I really liked the Empi 5 spokes, 3 oke's pm'd me to swap, one even offered to buy me a brand new set and swap, what do you think?

Question is: do you want to join the ranks of the exporters, selling out our heritage for a few rands....

If you do go that route, do it well. Get the price of new Empi 5s from a real shop. Up the price to cover the shipping costs for your mags and the Empis. Mark up the price another 10% and tell them thats what you want in your bank. When you get the cash, send them the mags... I have heard of good quality Rostyles going for as much as 800 quid

Don't understand me wrong, I have read the threads about exporting and support it fully, I'm not selling nor do I want their money, as you know I'm sort of a newbe to beetles and liked the Empi's that I saw in a picture so much that I thought they would look good on my bug s'all,
Here's hopin not to get too much flak for trading mine for Empi's.

Are Rostile's really so much in demand overseas?

maybe I must just keep em :P & enjoy my bug the way it is :drunks:

I was offered that price back in 2002. Before most of the exporting happened. I declined. Even though a year later I was working for Mr Delivery...

To export or not to export, thats your decision, I can only give you my opinion.

Look at these pics of a bus with Rostyles. When I first saw Janna's bus, that when I realised just how nice Rostyles can look. After looking at them, think how nice they would look if you get that raised strip chromed, the strip that runs around the rim and the 5 spokes....

LOL *lands on floor holding stomach*

Yea, Janna, Oom Erus and Myself drove that bus up in 2001. What a jol that was. The guys from the CPT Volksie Club will never let me forget that one. Listening to the guys talking Afrikaans all day, then drinking a bottle of brandy... apparently I was even sms'ing in Afrikaans after that. Was still talking Afrikaans the next day....
My nickname with the volksie club has always been Engelsman.

Yea, that was a FUN weekend! When was the last time you've heard of Oom Erus? Will he be at Fig's this year?
