PURE CREATION!
Howzit to all!
My name is juan from pretoria, gauteng. I just wanted to introduce myself and let you guys and girls in on the story. I'm busy with my third beetle project, this one is of sentimental value though. My father passed away last year October from cancer (bastardo disease). IN anyway he was a acvw freak in all aspects. He lived in PE at a stage and biuld a plane in a flat on the seventh floor. My mom wasn't very pleased! One guess what motor he put? Yup 1600 twin port! He actually flew this over the plant in Uitenhage! Told you he was a freak. So this is where I come in, That acvw freak gene runs through my vains. NO CURE!!!
I've started this project in honour of my old man and all those that has been affected by this disease. I've dropped the basic story at CANSA Pretoria and they flipped. Hopefully when she is done a big event can be organized and she will go on auction globaly. All profits to CANSA!!
You wondering what's it going to be! She is going to be one of a kind! A real volks rod, obviously to SA traffic law spec. I think some of the regulations is actually going to turn out allright. The heart will be a acvw motor, can't say that a 1600cc is going to do the trick! So think bigger, maybe dual 48 IDF"S for lungs.
I have started with a moer of a fight, seeing that the first panelbeater screwed me over(SAID HE WAS A MAN OF GOD,beware of those ones!!)
Have everything back and have started from the bottom!! I'll send pictures as the budget allows for progress!!
Ciao!!

PURE CREATION!
Thanks for the ACVW welcome! It's an honour to part of a group of people who share the same passion.
To Pine: No he did not launch from the seventh floor, but I'm sure if he didn't have a choice he would have!!!! The wind is perfect at that height there, isn't that right BAD ASS BOB?
And with that here is some pictures from the start, the strip and the start of reassembly. Whole process has been 5 months so far. I know some of you know what it's like grafting 12 hour shifts a day, trying, sorry!,making time for family-quality time and then a project like this! Have to tell you guys, my best friend(my son) is know 2 and a half. He's going to be a real clutchplate, a son any father will be proud of!! Already knows is aircooled beetles(big collection)and his tools!!!Send pics of daddy's helper soon!!

PURE CREATION!
Thanks!!
In anyway the chassis is powder coated and not sprayed, I wanted durability. Suspension parts is electro plated as this penetrates the metal. This puppy needs to drive and not just be show, that's why there is minimal chromework on the chassis. It cracks when you drive and hit a stone or whatever, and you are back to square one with rust!!
will send new pics soon, front suspension coming back soon.Had the bump stops lowered as I'm lowering the front, don't want it to bottom out!!
Does anyone know where I can find new knobbly rubbers(uerathane) for the rear suspension at the torsion bars, mine is wasted!!??
Ciao
