1192cc- Bore 77mm, stroke 64mm (early sixties with separate gen pedestal)
1285cc- Bore 77mm, stroke 69mm
1493cc- Bore 83mm, stroke 69mm
1584cc- Bore 85.5mm, stroke 69mm
1679cc- Bore 90mm, stroke 66mm (type 4)
1795cc- Bore 93mm, stroke 66mm (type 4)

Staying Aircooled is so much nicer.

Re: ENGINE CC?
There is also 87mm oversize on 1600s giving 1641cc ie 1.5mm oversize and if you are adventurous there is toyota pistons at 88mm which gives 1679
etc etc etc
etc etc etc

Who cares how it's done in California?

Nope the 36 hose had smaller spigots in the head I suppose some types of cylinder can be modified.

Re: ENGINE CC?
That Toyota piston modification sounds rather interesting. Any idea of how much power one can make out of a 1679 engineIMPI wrote:There is also 87mm oversize on 1600s giving 1641cc ie 1.5mm oversize and if you are adventurous there is toyota pistons at 88mm which gives 1679

Re: ENGINE CC?
dont even think about it. Toyota piston is heavier than stock (by a lot) and the cylinder is honed out so far it cant maintain its shape properly... if you want to do that, get the "machine in" 88mm kit that come with pistons and has a properly thick cylinder wall. But for the same price you can build a 1776 with thick walled sleevesBlitzkrieg_Beetle wrote:That Toyota piston modification sounds rather interesting. Re: ENGINE CC?
Thanks for the input Tony Z.Thought that it would make a nice budget combo, as those Toyota pistons can be had for free

Re: ENGINE CC?
3 options.
1) cheap
2) quality
3) performance
choose any 2, you cant have 3
