Howzit All,

My name is Theo. I live and work in Johannesburg. I have a red (ruby) '66 Ghia. It still needs quite a bit of work, but like most things, takes time. The engine runs great. The body will need to be resprayed as the previous job was not well done. I refitted the carpets and put a set of EMPI 5's on with s-drive Yokohama low profiles.

Cheers
Theo

Hi Theo, welcome to the Forum! Is this your KG? Any chance of getting some more of those wheels?

Thanks Guys,

Yea that's mine. I imported the rims from CIP in California http://www.cip1.com/ and landed for about R5000 including the studs. The wheels were organized by one of my factory guys who races a can am V8 and is sponsored by Yokohama. (exch rate last year was about R6.80/$).
I had to do some mods as the rear was a little too wide. I machined 7mm of the inside of the rims giving more space between the wheel arch and the tyre. I also had to take off a few mm on the inside of the arch. Now they fit like a bought one.

Where you guys there on Sunday?

Hi everyone!

My name is Bruce and today I became the proud owner of a Beach Buggy. Have no clue as to what type of body it is or what size engine it has (it is a VW air cooled motor!)- but will post some photo's in due course. The buggy is a tad run down - but I only paid R2500 for it so who cares!! All I know is that I can't wait to start sprucing it up and eventually hitting the sandy tracks in Maputaland.

I've never worked on a VW before so it, but my amateur mechanical abilities are not too shabby and it should be a lekker new learning curve. Having browsed the forum as guest I have been amazed at the help, advise and encouragement given by members to guys trying to sort their cars. So standby for a new entry in the Projects forum.

I'm from Pietermaritzburg, but work as a roving lodge manager - so I spend 6 weeks in the bush (Kosi Bay / Mabibi area) and then return to Pmb for a 2 week break. It's during my 2 week breaks that work on the Buggy will happen - so it looks like it will drag on a bit. The exact opposite of the very impressive lightning quick Suzie project!!

Will keep you posted.

Cheers!
