Post by splitfan »

Hey all
Need to get my calipers coated: thinking that ceramic coating would b the best seems powder coating looses its "shine" after a while got a quote and the guys want R500 a caliper ! :bn: that means 2k just for red calipers !

Dude, just get some heat resistant paint and spray the caliper, but do it properly and bake it in an oven so that it doesn't flake off.........Duplicolor's products are pretty decent

Personally, I wouldn't spend R2k on ceramic coating calipers...Rather use that money for something else..................

I helped a friend a while back to make his calipers a different colour. We removed the calipers, thoroughly cleaned them with some degreaser and elbow grease...

After that a guy known to us as only Blitz decided to sand them a bit to roughen the surface. He used some 40 grit paper, then 60 grit. After that, we used the dupli colour paint, let it sit in under some heat lamps for a while and everything turned out perfect :D
