BMW LS700 aircooled rear engined.

Post by Dawie »

This is another interesting rear engined car.Bigger than the Isetta. It used the aircooled twin cyl boxer from a BMW motorcycle with permanent driven fan. These were in SA,saw one in JHB long ago, believe there were some in Stellenbosch as well.Dont know if any are left in SA,saw an exporter advertising them overseas. Just google "BMW LS700".

Yes - there was one in Randburg owned by a guy called Summers or Sommers. He had a whole collecion of bubble cars, and the 700 was one of them - although not a bubble car - a proper little saloon body. It was red and in pretty good running condition. He wanted R70K for it. His business has sinced moved and I dont know where it is now.
