I can't remember exactly, but it was a lot better than the twin carbs. I recall a specific trip from Bloem to Pretoria and back, in 2003 where the consumption was in the region of around 10 liter/100 km at 110 - 120 km/h

That's quite respectable.

I'm pretty sure that fitment of a correctly mapped Gotech would drop it by a litre or two...

My setup was anyway very rough - did not change anything, it was basically a bolt-on experiment that worked.

The only concern that I had was that the air filter (cone type, inside engine bay) was sucking air warmed by the engine, which I suppose would have raised the petrol consumption. I had some plans to rig the air filter in such a way so that it would get fresh (cold) air from the outside, but never got to it in the end.

I'll probably use some ram air piping to pick up cold air from an area that has a high concentration of it.
