There was a steering column lying next to my garage on Sunday. I think it's still there.

I wanted to buy some of your wares, but I was too slow and all the buses went so fast.

The Weeks That Was.

In the last couple of weeks I haven’t posted or added much to this thread. But seeing as so many things happened and there has been a lot of new members joining our forum,I thought it is about time that I gave them an idea of what is going on,who’s who and what we have been up to.I hope this brings a smile to your face today and also makes us think about what others that sometimes has it worse than us.

Some of our members has been going through some tough times the last couple of months. No sooner Forcecooled’s Son, Wayde’s Beetle got stolen from Kyalami and disappeared without a trace from a secure facility,he landed up in hospital loosing blood at an alarming rate. The doctors did a great job making sure that our friend didn’t end up driving a white Beetle that doesn’t touch the highway made of gold.

Thankfully he is back, got a new Bug for Wayde and is “tuning us kak” again.
Welcome back Bill.

Beetlepower is also back home after his serious accident in which he lost a leg.And to proof to us that the human spirit can prevail,he came back with a bang, and from the hospital bed took the time to let us know that he was doing well, and getting stronger by the day.In the meantime he has received his prosthetic leg and is going through some very strenuous rehabilitation to learn to walk again.

We wish you well and hope to see you at fig’s again next year.

ZeroAxe has also been having a tough time in the last couple of months. His In-laws lost their house and car in a fire caused by suspected vandalism,Then his Step-father passed while his mother was in hospital. It is difficult to be this far from home when things go wrong, but be certain Theo,we are all here to support you,and wish you well. That is what friends are for.

Bugger also fell victim to crime and had his beloved Beetle stolen as well in Primrose. It looks like there has been a couple of cars stolen in the Joburg area and hope the guys get cought soon.

Bugger has also replaced the car in the meantime and we hope she brings you just as much pleasure.

But not everything was bad news.I went to France, and together with Theo,Eben and Natasha,we went to see the F1 Grand Prix at Magny Cours. It was a great day,and for a couple of hours we had good company and seen some great racing that made us forget about the world for a while.

Eben,we will see you in Cape town in September.

A couple of members got their cars up and running and also found some nice “new” cars.Like I mentioned,Forcecooled found a sweet Beetle for Wayde,Bugger a Beetle to replace the white one,Pine found some Fuchs for his Bay,Blitzkrieg an T4 engine for his Fastback Project,Didi has his Karman Ghia back on the road,4agedub has his serious looking engine in his awesome looking bug and a cool new project,Flat Four Fan’s 356 is looking stunning in it’s new colors,Beetlefanatic is resurrecting a Cabrio,Smoke on the Water found a lovely looking Notch as did I,Lowlight has his Westy idling,Tom’s Thing is coming along nicely,Donno found a 914,Barron bought his 911 dream,Snyx found a sweet Bay,Pine’s wife bought him another Buggy,Ladybug also found a sweet Beetle and Vader is reuniting with the Dark Side at last,or,what is left of it!

In the meantime Tony has left the country again and at present moment is somewhere in the Adriatic on a new Boat.Good luck Tony and enjoy the new experience.
Vuyo started a new job with the SABC.Enjoy buddy!
Merlin is currently studying and also trying to get his Bug up and running.I wish you well.

Looks like we have a lot to be thankfull for, even though they are trying very hard to take all our money with increasing fuel prices. And with friends like these, who can go wrong?
