Good day all
Does anybody know how to which dizzy one has by looking at it??
i changes plugs, condensor, points, vacuum advance and serviced the carb and tuned it correctly, but i still have that dreadfull flat spot accelorating.
Can the absence of the heat pipes coming from the exhaust to the intake manifold, have an effect
Thanks
Renier

Re: Identifiying the dizzy
might be from removing the heat pipes....
Sounds more lik eyou have a vacuum leak.
Get some quick start. With the engine running, spray it around the manifold rubbers and head gaskets. If the engine sound changes or the idle speed increases, then you have found your leak.

Re: Identifiying the dizzy
Is this in a buggy.
If there is no flat spot when the choke is on, but appears after 3-4 km of driving then this is due to missing manifold heaters and taking in cold air. I assume you have a stock inlet manifold. Does ice develope on it? The problem with a buggy motor is it sits in the open always sucking cold air. As a test,Take a creepy crawly hose from you carb to under you barrels and see if this helps a bit.
Cheers

Thanks for the advice tom
But it has that flat spot when I accelerate fast, but when I take the revs up at a slow pace it does not seem to do that
