Standard drums

Post by Lieb »

Hi Guys
A while ago I told you about the splitwindow Beetle body I found on a farm, I also bought an 1970 imported chassis with a balljoint suspensionin front and a "swingarm" rear suspension. I've put the split body on this chassis but it seems wider and lower so I have a bit of tyre touching in front. It has drums front and rear. The problem is that you can not find Mags or adapters to fit the PCD of these drums. The standard rims have a flat hubcap. I want to go for a stadard Beetle look. Will standerd Beetle drums fit on these axles? The rear is a cv joint setup.
Thanks Lieb
I wish I could post pictures but my webpage does not even give the options that you describe inyour instructions and I work on a R22000 Macbook.

The "early" wide 5 drums will not bolt onto the front spindle as the dia. are not the same, with some machine work and change of bearings it can be made to work, I have done the opposite, I am not 100% sure of the rear.

What rims do you have in mind? Those 4 lug drums can be re-drilled to most any pattern, including Porsche 5x130
