Hi all,
been on the forum a while, but never introduced my self as our firewall did not allow me to post.....
Currently dont own any aircolled VW's, just a bunch of models. Will be buying a bus and a beetle in the very near future (trying to convince the missis that we NEED both..... :D   ). This is a great site and it is great to know that there are so many vw fanatics out there. Have a brilliant day and safe motoring.

So i do not feel that giving a new home is a bad thing, it is all about keeping the VW name alive and one more saved Kombi surely is a great thing.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!I love the justifications when it comes to exporting cars! I'm pretty sure that the Bus would have found a nice, warm home here.

But anyway.....

Brilliant car but maintanace is a VERY expensive exercise. Set of front brakes set me back about R 1600 and rear brakes are R 1400. Wipers cost R 757....... new set of front tyres every 20000km..... but step on the happy pedal and then it is all worth it. Love the look on GTI and Focus drivers if you leave them in a cloud of diesel smoke....

A friend of mine here in PE has one that puts out 141Kw.It's a monster, and like you say,it leaves a lot of big cars standing at the light.

thanks for the welcome emails,
Im the proud owner of a 72' beetle, its my first VW and i had to "downgrade" from a 2002 RXI because i am getting married. Brilliant move because i love it! and apparently so does everyone else, there is still some work that needs to be done but im sure that in time ill get around to it(after the wedding)

i look forward to learning and sharing with everyone here.
:D :D

Hello Everyone,

A friend of mine came across this forum quite by accident whilst searching for my website, he found a post that mentioned my site here and told me about it, I’m blown away that my website has been viewed by people on the other side of the world, it’s fantastic!

My name is Julian Hunt and I live in a place called Leigh on Sea just outside Southend which is in Essex, UK. I am manager of Vintage VW and Porsche specialist Karmann Konnection.

I have been into Vintage VW’s since the early 90’s and currently have two VW’s, a 1999 New Beetle which is my sensible daily drive and a 1952 Barndoor Panel van which is my not so sensible Vintage ride!

I do have other interests but they are all car related, I love all motor racing, Historic racing and Drag racing being favourites but I love all cars, if it has wheels, chances are I’m into it!

Photography kind of goes hand in hand with a car hobby and I have always enjoyed taking pictures of cars but it’s only in the last couple of years that I have made an effort to learn how a camera works.
