That is a 1100 old split style transmission from a split bug or a oval or old ghia pre 1957 with 6 volt starter bush hole
1958 with the 1200 arival the casings changed from split style to the current configuration

Where do you want to use it in
Adapterplates Available for Rotary in Beetle and others aswell
And Special Boxes built for Rotary Conversions and Scubies

Well that's what we got in our Ghia. We bought a 1600TP for the Ghia (it didn't have a engine) and obviously the flywheel doesn't fit in the bellhousing due to it being to big and all that jazz. So know my question is, would it be better to get a whole new gearbox or just to modify the bellhousing. Would it be a big issue to fit a newer gearbox on our 1959 Ghia (well now i ain't even sure bout the cars age).

Well looking at the gearbox, i would just want something that would make the car cruise easily above the 100kmph mark, and something thats reliable.
