Right, again with a tremendous amount of help from HR, we managed to get the selection rod out.
I cleaned EVERYTHING and lubricated with Red Rubber Grease.
Then we did some dancing to get it back in, first time it didn't work, second time it didn't work, third time... we got it back in.
So... the new bushing is in, everything is reassembled and...
drum roll please...
THE PROBLEM... STILL EXISTS!
Right, I'm open to all suggestions. Here is what's happening:
While stationary, getting into first and second is only a problem if you come out of reverse, you have to go to third and then to first, in order to get the gear in.
While driving, and shifting from third to second, it only sometimes happens that it doesn't want to go into second or first. This requires some effort and tricky driving to sort out,
and is down right dangerous.
Now, apparently there is supposed to be some kind of adjustment that needs to happen on the stop plate. Can any one fill me in on this.
All other suggestions are welcome. I honestly don't know what to do anymore, short of getting another gearbox
Anyway, I'm learning a lot and that at least puts a smile on my face. Please, please, please... make your suggestions, don't hold back, if need be I'll check and triple check everything again.
