Re: My T3 Sunroof Variant
Well yesterday was a good day I firstly tracked down another Square with factory sunroof at Vd brinks
So got the inner roof cover that I needed and also striped out the comp sliding mechanism and the plastic covers the wire sliding guides are still in good nick and the coupling mecanism for moving the roof fwd and back are still atatch to the wire coil
the plastics is not in a to good state but Karjieker is sending me some plastics of a bug and think all are the same so will check between all which ones are the best to use
I even took the extra roof with for spare
All I need now are the crank handle the cap for it to sit in and I am so much closer It was a great find coz Ron was actually buzy organising some of these bits for me at T3D and you know the Rand Pound exchange rate I got all these parts for less than half what just the cover would have cost me Thanks again Ron for your help
Now hopefully I can get my car trailer back over the weekend coz my other mate`s 15 window is still stuck on it waiting for the new Panel beater to fetch it Coz We took it away from Jan in Centurion 8 months later then I can Take Beetlefanatics Cabrio to the upholsters for the soft top and collect my Variant and take it for its colour coat

Re: My T3 Sunroof Variant
It's great that you were able to get all those sunroof parts at a good price!
Have you decided what colour you are going to make her? And what wheels have you chosen?

Re: My T3 Sunroof Variant
There are a few colors in mind 90% leaning towards a metalic color light silver with blue inn or light silwer gray or a sloid blue color
Weels have to be BIG

Hey Bugger
Man cant you write shorter sentences , with the condition of my lungs I run out of breath before the end of the sentence --so I miss halve of your story. ha ha

Yes I think a soft blue outside with darker blue interior will look great. Thick carpets to give that engine growl a bit of depth
cheers
baron
PS Dont worry we love your story

Re: My T3 Sunroof Variant
Well hold thumbs that the weather holds out tomorrow morning
That I can collect the Square back and drop him Off at Jan for the new coat of Clothes UUMM mmmM PAint I mean
The colour that I have desided on is a Very light metalic blue it is actually a metalic silver with the blue shine in it that is getting specially mixed for the Square
I also want to take out the Type 4 motor and get the engin bay sorted nicely with colour and it will give me a chance to go over the motor and maybe even chuck it in to the Flag buggy
But I think Before I fit the motor back in to the Square I want to sort out the fuel supply already for the future EFI Turbo system so I do not need to fit new lines in then
I will also be building a nice ratio transmission for him with a shorter 3de Ratio for Robot racing and a longer 4th for the highway croozing between towns Seeking the young ones with their hot hatches in the future to come
Wheel wize I want minimum 18" but want to see if 19`s or 20`s will fit in to the wheel wells
I had a Disc brake front end and then it fell through but seems My source has come up with one again my Square back China Eben thanks Man really apreciate your effort
The interrior Will cross that bridge when I get there
Still battlingwith the side scraper window rubbers so I phoned my one buddy in the UK and he is sourcing them for me now and we will hopefully BERAAM `n plan to get it here from Egland coz R7K
I am sure ah hell not paying for 2 doors window chrome surrounds and then Beadings still has to come inn aswell
Oupa Baron hoop die sinniektjies was kort genoeg vir die flou asem HEHEHHE

Thanks for the call this morning Bugger. 20 Dozen for me please
If the budget allows, I would go with a set of Porsche seats....Maybe the buckets from a 924/944/968/911
