Replacement for Seatcover`s Stolen one

Post by Bugger »

Ok this is the one that I bought so she could have transport and basically a hour after I bought the black one I got a nice 1500 model in good nick with a blown motor so I took it aswell to build as a fairly stocker for the Frou :D

So I got this one running very nice and started on the White one
Hunting for motor spares to build a nice twin carb motor

But bought a donor bug just for the motor and sold it the same day As I collected it and took out the motor

Ok this is the donor that I got it was standing a while and bought it from a fellow forum member

The night when I went to fetch her the wire between the starter and Alternator burned for some stupid reason So made a plan got it running and was Racing Renay home with the bug and she in the Opel :D
Coz the car was standing very long Think it did not do very much miles since recon there are welding on the heads so hopefully who ever reconed it 10 odd years ago did a good job

This was Flekkie :D

Stripped all the tinnware off to clean up the motor and had all the tinware powder coated in total there are 33 Pieces of tinware including the intake manifold and the alternator stand I search for all the small pieces aswell as the 2 small ones that goes by the front Exhaust ports and the 2 top clamping ones fot the manifold hot air tubes
22 9 2008 040.jpg
With all covers off I could clean the block and gave it the well known hide ugly looking things with a tin of silver Spray :D

Remember it is the Seatcovers so it does not have to be 100% :D (Hope sh does not read this )
22 9 2008 028.jpg
Now with some of the tinware on and some go fast looking assesories :D

I helped VW Trends move some stuff with the Horse and trailer on Wednesday :D
Came home late and reversed in to the bug

Can Imagine I was Furious at my self
Took it to get repaired today
908 058.jpg
Got the rims back from the Refurb today and are looking mooi :D
908 063.jpg

And trough a very good mate of mine at Super Quick Birchleigh I got a deal of a lifetime on the Tyres, fitted Dunlop SP SPORT 6060 225/45/ZR17 to the rims and
got a set of Lock nuts and some nice chrome nuts to go with the lock nuts

The Seat cover was in Paridise when she got home and saw the wheels and Phoned me to ask where is her bug gone its not at home  first joked with here and then said it is in for the bump

You`ll get a Kol

FOKKOL :D you havent got the right body fizique HEHEHEH

Ye gotthe bug back from repairing the dent and got polished and looks tonnes better but will give it a respray
One day not to soon

Yes Blitz this one is for the Seat cover and I will be building the Squareback for myself but it will be a "Family" car
If you know what I mean
Found a nice heater box today coz one was a bit badly rusted at the merge point of the silencer and also got the heater levers for making the heaters working with the cables and the one flange fitting that goes in to the silencer to connect the air hose from the fan housing to the silencer

But now am to layzy to do any work on the bug had a beer at a friend while fitting a new front w/shield on the Black bug of the Seatcover so that has made me as layzy as hell Actually were excited to go and Assemble the Alternator and fit the fan housing and silencer and clean the carb etc etc
But ja ja
All the Seatcover in a very shaken state could say was she thought sombody shot at her and broke the window so when she did not see any blood she knew she should be ok :D and
Drove home with a fully shatterd front screen  Quite a brave one recon kept her one hand thight against her eyes to close her Eyes if the window caved in
