Thats exactly the effect the microbus had THRICE. Also just as important to keep the paint to thinners ratio as specified by the manufacturer. This also leads to uneven drying.

Bees. We had to sand right down to the orininal paint again.

My suggestion is to go see the paint manufacturer and as what he thinks. If they are honest they'll tell you the truth.

Thats how we found out. Took the car back to the paint place and he showed us why the paint was "creeping".

You maybe lucky just have to wait a while till the paint is completely dry and just have to give a good sand down another coat with the correct thinners

This was the case with an XR6 I had.

With 2K there is no need to go with high gloss clear coat. If the job is done correctly, you can get 2K to 'shine' just as well as high gloss clear coat. It is not easy though. And that is where the best gets seperated from the good. Patience and skill is the key here.... Various thinners can be used, as long as it is from the same brand.(ie. fast, medium and slow (drying)thinners) Fast drying will give a lot of FLA if you are not careful. Slow drying will give less FLA, but you risk having runs......

beesbal if i may ask how much is this paint per litre?is it the paint you can buy of the shelf like the 2k white...wanted to paint the buggy black and gold a sort of a john player special...but didnt know how this "of the shelf" black would come out...paint job looks really good...and good luck with keeping the bug clean...i had a black bug i know...

Normal standard 2k black that you can buy at most paint shops,about R80.00 per ltr.

sorry guys bit of i highjack i see there are some guys here that have spend some time cleaning paints out of the finger nails ! i do have experience with paint but i have never used this specific product so i need some advice please.
I am doing my bus in a mat or "flat" as they call it in the states using "kustom shop" paints from the states does any1 know of any tricks to paint/prep for this ??

You can use a normal base coat black and then use a MATT or SATIN clear coat , my buddy Mark used it on his custom 1300 Kawasaki, very nice look !!!>....BAB

The only matt paint I know of is Duco.Normally dosnt need hardner very easy to use

Be careful with Duco. Another bad experiance. It sometimes needs a complete body prime or the paint lifts. Have special primers that adhere to enamels and allow Duco to be sprayed on

I would also be weary of sanding with 1000 grit under the final coats rather 600 to 800 those fine scratches are needed to make the paint cling. I have had paint lift and according to the experts sanding with 1000 was the prob most pros use no finer than 600 most 400
What is the best possible is to leave the primer for about a month before final sanding so that all trapped solvents can evaporate then sand and shoot.this guarantees that fine dips and waves do not re appear.
