Help
I'm new the the VW scene.
I have been looking to buy a 1975 Fleetline Kombi from South Africa but i am concerned that it may be difficult to source parts!
Am i mad to purchase this over the 1969 style Split-screens, i have read so much on the net and am now deeply confused?
Can anyone offer friendly advice?

Hp is how fast you hit the wall, and Torque is how far you take the wall with you."

Please read the terms and conditions of the forum very, very carefully. You may also want to introduce yourself in the relevant thread before asking for parts or advice

I trust that you will enjoy your ACVWSA forum experience after following these simple rules.
P.S - Does your grandfather still give you sweet goats' milk and cheese before you sleep in your hay-lined loft?

Heidi,
parts for fleetlines are VERY hard to come by. That is the reason why so many Fleetlines are exported to the UK, simply because we know they are such a pain when you need to find parts for it. So we rather have them exported and make them someone else's problem.

Yip,parts on these things are a real hassle.Nothing fits,it's made from 2 different busses, and no other VW parts fit on them.
Like Eben said,it's just so much easier to get rid of them and buy real Splitties like the ones found in the UK.Their parts are easier to come by and mostly come complete with no rust.
