Lowered Roof ..?
Want to toss this idea out there and into the forum for some input and ideas ….
A lowered roof …Hot Rod style ….has anyone in SA or on this forum done one on a Beetle ?
…seen lots on the net …but never in the metal per say
What all does it involve …? How do you handle the glass side of such a project ?

Re: Lowered Roof ..?
By just dropping the front that is called a rake drop like the 1st and 3de pic
The 2nd one was not droped that much but was dropped at the back aswell to give it the effect that Something is wrong but you cant see it straight away
The black one I did not go 1pce windows the owner wanted to have 1/4 vent glass and that was one hell of a mission but it was done
I can drop it more in the front and back depends on what you want
I use 1 roof not like the Yanks 4 and the back glass stay std or you can fit the Split style back windows

Re: Lowered Roof ..?
The convertible on the trailer looks good …..also like the “split window look” …awesome …
!! So it can be done
….Hectic “Hot Rod’ style drop roof and split ..
Sounds good ….as I said I have an idea for a Volksrod project …

Re: Lowered Roof ..?
Interesting... Remember reading in overseas magazines that roof sections of 4 beetles were used in the old time to do it. Nice... What difference does it do to top speed?
Staying Aircooled is so much nicer.
