Hey Nic if you are worried that the quick shifter is not for you, after you fit it, what you should do is mark the position of your current plate position with some tippex in a few places with vertical lines onto the pan, before you remove it to fit the quick shifter. You can then get the stock setup back in the exact same position if you need to.

An oil change is definately in order. :)

...especially the way I drive my bug; I need quick shifts. *grin*

My toy does a lot of overtaking in the daily traffic. ;)

Check your clutch tighten the nut on the cable until there is no free play then slack it off until the pedal just moves. also check the coupling near the gearbox it should not be like jelly sometimes it still looks ok but is bad.
