Go to a parts supplier/scrapyard and get the following relay from them:
321 906 059 C A good source would be an FI golf or jetta with mechanical (CIS) injection.
Connect the terminals up as follows: This relay will cause the fuel pump to run for 5 seconds, to "prime" the carbs and then it will only continue running if the engine is running.
As soon as it detects through the coil trigger wire that the engine has stopped, the fuel pump will stop too.
I had a DIY setup running from the alternator warning lamp to do the same thing but the problem it causes is that it doesn't prime your carb if it has been standing.
And rememeber.... net pampoenkoppe, don't have safety relays on their electric fuel pumps
