KG fiberglass body kit

Post by vader »

Just testing the waters here but does anyone know of, or ever seen a fiberglass kit for the KG? I have seen fg kits for the bug but not the KG...

A long time ago I saw f/g replacement Ghia bodies in a US mag - dunno if they are still in production. As for 'add-on' Ghia body scoops, side skirts, wide fenders etc. - you can't be serious, right?

I think he is talking about a whole body to put onto a beetle chassis

Problem is that a Ghia chassis front is a lot wider that a Beetle chassis, so it will need some serious modifications

ANYTHING can be done in fibreglass  :flash:

Whilst the Ghia body will be relatively affordable, the building cost wil quadriple with original windows, trim, bumpers, interior etc. Best would probably be to get a complete rusted steel Ghia as donor?

The Brazilian Puma was originally designed for a Ghia chassis, but the SA versions have been modified for a Beetle chassis, with some f/g panels filling the 'gaps' on the chassis
