Look at this, TWIN Judson superchargers. I wouldn't mind a old school setup like this 8) Crazy. Just imagine the scream

That sure does look nice, for the proper vintage look. But as far as I understand it a Judson wont do anything for a 40horse engine. They were primarily designed to beef up the old 1100cc(30horse?) motors. But, like I said, that does looks nice

Hi Z

There were 2 judson kits made one with the double drive belt for the 30 (36) hp motor and one with the single drive belt for the 40 HP 1200 motors.

I ran a Judson for years on my 65 1200 and it gave the sort of performance that you got from a 66 1300 or at a push on a cool day , maybe hang opn to a 1500.

no great burst of power.

A bit like a cup of warm piss, but thats all we had in those days

Or if you had bucks , you fitted a butchered T3 1500 motor

Or if you had real bucks, you bought a Porsche super 70 engine , brand new in the crate ( NOT a dolled up 356 industrial engine)----- super 70 - -- complete with twin solex / zenith carbs and a pipe -- bolt into a bug with a bit of tinwork

Good old days hey?

The porsche motor cost as much if not more than a new bug.

It is so cool to hear about VW performance and performance parts from the old days. Carry on with the nostalgic words, forcecooled. Us youngsters appreciate it

I polished up the chrome strips and fitted them to the door. No more holes in the doors anymore :!:
